Timing of election results and list of parties standing
Details are available of the different stages of the election counting process in each Member State, as is a full list of the parties standing in the 4-7 June European elections.
Information on each country's electoral process is available via Parliament's Elections 2009 website, via the link below.
In addition, the two documents available via the links below contain:
- a complete list of all the parties standing in all of the 27 Member States;
- details of the counting process in each Member State, including the likely times when results will be available, gathered in a single document.
Election results
On 7 June 2009 at 18h00 the EP will open its special election night website at the following addresses: http://www.elections2009-results.eu/ and www.elections2009.eu
The site will be available in 23 language versions.
When it opens, it will contain historical data about previous elections and the pre-election survey indicators, as well as all the pages on which the incoming results will be published in graph, chart or table form.
The following will be published on the site:
- an estimate of turnout in the 27 Member States and of overall European turnout, at about 21.00
- an initial projection of the estimated number of seats (in fork) per political group, after 22.00
- initial estimates of outcomes per country (results by national political party, seats by political group) after 22.00

On June 4th Europe by Satellite started broadcasting footage of the President of the European Parliament and the leaders of the Political groups as they cast their votes in the European Elections. Footage of polling station atmosphere and vox pops from different Member States will also be made available.
The material will be broadcast on EbS (see enclosed document for transmission times) and will also be availble for download in broadcast format on the EbS website:

The AV and press facilities will remain fully accessible Monday 8th of June.
The political groups' press conferences will take place in the European Parliament.
